Grindr Profile Review

Grindr profile review, by a real person.

A main photo, 255 characters and a few tags. Find out what they say before anyone taps.

In a Grindr profile review on RMH, a vetted reviewer looks at your main photo at grid size, then your other photos, About Me, tags and stats, and tells you what to change. Read a few reviewer bios first and pick someone who knows the people you want to meet. Reviews come back in two to three business days, and each reviewer sets a price from $20 to $150.

“Angela gave me a detailed and thoughtful review of my profile. It felt like she actually took the time to go through everything instead of rushing through it or giving generic advice. She explained what she liked, what she thought I should change, and gave specific suggestions for my photos, prompts, and overall profile. I’ve already made several changes based on her feedback and feel like the review was definitely helpful.”

What Grindr rewards

Grindr opens on a grid of the people closest to you, so most first impressions happen at thumbnail size. Your main photo does nearly all of the work. The About Me gets 255 characters. Your tags and stats fill in the rest, from height and weight to pronouns, role and relationship style.

A face photo is optional. Grindr’s own blog (opens in a new tab) suggests that people who’d rather not see extra skin filter their grid to profiles with a face photo as the main image. Anyone using that filter won’t see a faceless main photo. That can be the right call, as long as you made it on purpose.

The short version

  • Make the main photo clear, recent and well lit, and decide on purpose whether your face is in it.
  • Use the 255 characters to sound like a person, not a list of rules.
  • Update your tags and stats, including the ones you set once and forgot.
  • Use the other photos for what the main one can’t show.

What reviewers fix, and how to fix it on Grindr

Most of these take ten minutes. RMH’s 2026 report doesn’t include Grindr, so these come from how the app works and from Grindr’s own advice.

  1. The main photo doesn’t survive the thumbnail

A dark, far-away or heavily filtered photo turns into a smudge in the grid. Grindr’s blog (opens in a new tab) says that if your face isn’t in it, the photo should at least be “good lighting, high quality, recent”. That holds with your face in it too.

    Try this

Look at your profile at grid size. If you can’t tell what the photo is in a second, swap it for one taken in daylight, close enough that your face or the subject fills the frame.

    Skip

    • Photos from three summers ago
    • Twelve filters deep
    • A group shot as the main photo
  2. The About Me is a list of rules

A list of what you don’t want says more about your last bad chat than about you. Grindr’s blog puts it well. “Bios don’t need to be clever. They need to sound like a person.”

    Try this

Say what you’re there for and one thing about you that isn’t a stat. Two plain sentences fit easily in 255 characters.

  3. Your tags are from a different year

Tags help people work out quickly whether you’re their kind of person, and old ones send the wrong signal. Grindr itself tells people to “cut the dead ones”.

    Try this

Go to Edit Profile, then My Tags, and keep only the ones that are true now. While you’re there, check your stats are current too.

  4. The other photos repeat the first

Four versions of the same mirror photo add nothing the first one didn’t say.

    Try this

Give each extra photo a job. One full length, one of you doing something, one with friends, one that’s just a good smile.

Grindr Profile Review: questions people ask first

What is a Grindr profile review?

Feedback on your Grindr profile from someone other than you. On RMH a vetted reviewer goes through your photos, About Me, tags and stats, and tells you what reads well and what to change.

How does a Grindr profile review on RMH work?

Read a few reviewer bios on the RMH marketplace and pick someone who knows the people you want to meet. Send screenshots of your public Grindr profile in the RMH app and choose a written review, a video review or a live 1-on-1 call. Written and video reviews come back in two to three business days.

How much does a Grindr profile review cost?

Each reviewer sets their own price. Written reviews run about $20 to $50, video reviews $49 to $100 and live calls $70 to $150. You see the exact price on the reviewer's profile before you pay.

Should I send explicit photos for the review?

No. RMH's terms don't allow sexually explicit content, and a reviewer doesn't need it. Send screenshots of your public profile and leave private albums out.

Do I need a face photo on Grindr?

No, a face photo is optional on Grindr. Grindr's own blog suggests people who prefer less skin filter their grid to profiles with a face photo as the main image, so a profile without one won't appear for anyone using that filter. A reviewer can help you weigh that against your privacy.

Can I get my Hinge, Tinder, Bumble or Raya profile reviewed too?

Yes. RMH also reviews Hinge, Tinder, Bumble and Raya profiles. Send screenshots of whichever profile you want reviewed.

Make the thumbnail count

A reviewer looks at your profile the way the grid shows it, then tells you what to change first.
