Facebook Dating Profile Review

Facebook Dating profile review, by a real person.

Twelve slots for photos and prompts, and a profile that starts from your Facebook account. It should read like a dating profile.

A Facebook Dating profile review on RMH is a second opinion on the profile inside the Facebook app. A vetted reviewer goes through your photos and prompts and tells you which to keep, swap or rewrite. Written and video reviews take two to three business days, live calls are booked with the reviewer, and prices run from $20 to $150. RMH isn’t affiliated with Meta.

“Angela gave me a detailed and thoughtful review of my profile. It felt like she actually took the time to go through everything instead of rushing through it or giving generic advice. She explained what she liked, what she thought I should change, and gave specific suggestions for my photos, prompts, and overall profile. I’ve already made several changes based on her feedback and feel like the review was definitely helpful.”

What Facebook Dating rewards

Facebook Dating lives inside the Facebook app. Your first name and age come from your account, and you get up to 12 slots for photos and prompts, at least one of them a photo where your face is visible (Facebook help (opens in a new tab)). Your current Facebook friends can’t see your Dating profile unless you send them a Crush, and your Dating activity doesn’t appear in your Feed (Facebook help (opens in a new tab)).

Matches come partly from what you share with people, like groups, events and schools. Adding someone as a Crush lets them see that you liked them (Facebook help (opens in a new tab)), and a Dating assistant that can suggest profile changes is rolling out in the US and Canada (Meta (opens in a new tab)). None of that helps if the profile itself reads like a holiday album from 2016.

The short version

  • Swap any photos you brought over from Facebook for ones from this year.
  • Use photos someone else took, not only selfies.
  • Split the 12 slots between photos and prompts.
  • Ask of every photo whether it would help start a conversation.

What to fix on Facebook Dating

RMH’s 2026 report doesn’t break out Facebook Dating, so these come from how the app works and from Facebook’s published tips.

  1. The photos came from your main profile

When Dating launched in 2019, Meta said it would suggest photos and information from your Facebook profile (Meta (opens in a new tab)). Photos picked for friends and family weren’t picked for a match.

    Try this

“Select a photo of just you for your primary photo. Make sure your face is clearly shown,” is the first of Facebook’s tips (Facebook help (opens in a new tab)). After that, cut anything taken before your current phone.

    Skip

    • Wedding party photos
    • Profile frames and filters
    • Photos where you’re one face in a crowd
  2. All selfies

“Select photos someone else took of you, not just selfies!” is another of the tips (Facebook help (opens in a new tab)), and a row of arm’s-length shots reads as one afternoon.

    Try this

Hand a friend your phone for ten minutes on your next plan together, and keep the shots where you forgot about it.

  3. Twelve photos and no prompts

Photos and prompts share the same 12 slots. Spend them all on photos and a match has a lot to look at and nothing to answer.

    Try this

Keep your strongest photos and give a few slots to prompts with an answer a match could disagree with.

  4. Photos that don’t start anything

“Does this photo help start a conversation?” is Facebook’s test for each one (Facebook help (opens in a new tab)), and a landscape with you as a dot in the corner fails it.

    Try this

Keep photos that show something to ask about, like a place you love or a thing you make, and cut the rest.
