RMH Research · October 2026

How RMH reviewer pay works.

What reviewers charge, what they keep, how they are paid, and what customers come to them for.

Key findings

  1. Reviewers set their own prices and keep 80%. Current medians are $29.99 for a text review, $79.99 for video and $99.99 for a live consultation. Apple's fee is added on top for the customer.
  2. First bookings come quickly. A quarter of reviewers who have been booked got their first booking within two days of approval, and more than half within a month.
  3. Customers want order and honesty. 76% ask for help with photo order, 57% with prompts, and 22% ask outright for brutal honesty.
  4. Demand is spread out; reviewers are not. About three in four reviewers live in the New York area, while more than half of the cities customers give are outside the US.

1. What reviewers charge

Every reviewer sets their own price for each package and can change it any time. These are the medians and the lowest current prices among approved, active reviewers.

PackageMedianLowestKept at median
Text review$29.99$19.99$23.99
Video review$79.99$49.00$63.99
Live consultation$99.99$69.99$79.99

Customers are told to expect a review back in two to three business days. Some reviewers also sell Mock Chat, a day of practice texting, usually priced at $40 to $50.

2. What reviewers keep

The reviewer keeps 80% of the price they set. RMH’s fee is the other 20%. Apple’s fee and the App Store’s price-tier rounding are added on top for the customer, so none of it comes out of the reviewer’s share; the reviewer’s 80% works out to about 62% of what the customer pays.

Worked example, one video review

Price you set
$79.99
RMH fee (20%)
$16.00
You keep (80%)
$63.99

The customer pays the price plus Apple’s fee. The price shown is the current median for a video review.

3. How reviewers are paid

Earnings land in the reviewer’s wallet and pay out through Stripe Connect every Friday. Reviewers can also withdraw on demand. Reviewers are independent contractors who choose their prices and hours and can pause their page when they are away.

4. How fast bookings come

A person reads every application; a decision usually comes within a few days

More than half had their first booking within a month

Every approved reviewer has a public page that Google can index, and sharing it gives people a direct way to book you. Bookings are not guaranteed.

5. Where demand is

About three in four approved reviewers live in the New York area. Customers are much more spread out. Among US cities, after New York, customers most often name Los Angeles, Miami, the San Francisco Bay Area, Atlanta and Boston, and more than half of the cities customers give are outside the US, such as London, Toronto and Sydney.

The reviewers wanted page lists the cities we are recruiting in.

6. What customers ask for

When customers book, they tell their reviewer what they want help with. Photo order leads by a wide margin, and more than one in five asks outright for brutal honesty.

  2. PromptsPrompts, 57%57%
  3. Brutal honestyBrutal honesty, 22%22%

The buyers themselves are fairly specific. Of them, 96% are men, 65% are aged 26 to 35, 88% are on Hinge and 85% want a long-term relationship.

7. What reviewers most often recommend

When a reviewer thinks a customer needs outside help, they can recommend it alongside the review. Reviewers recommend new photos in more than a third of reviews, and style, grooming and personal training come up after that.

The work is specific. In RMH’s review data, uniqueness is the lowest of the four scores in 67% of reviews, and reviewers keep 66% of candid photos against 4% of selfies. The 2026 Dating Profile Report has more on what reviewers flag.

Method

Numbers were taken from RMH’s production database on 11 October 2026. Prices are the package prices of approved, active reviewers. Time to first booking runs from approval to the first paid booking, among reviewers who have had one. Customer requests and buyer figures come from what customers told RMH when they signed up and booked. The photo-recommendation rate is the one published in the 2026 Dating Profile Report. Where reviewers live comes from their profiles.

RMH publishes percentages, medians and prices, and no counts of reviewers, reviews, orders or customers. No figure identifies a reviewer. Decision time reflects how applications are handled today.
