Tinder is built around the swipe. Your photos come first and your bio sits underneath, so plenty of people decide before they read a word. The photos carry more of the load here than on Hinge.
The bio’s job is smaller. A line or two that makes someone want to start the chat is enough. Tinder gives you up to 500 characters, and you won’t need most of them.
Tinder’s Smart Photos setting can pick which of your photos shows first, though Tinder doesn’t publish how it decides. It can only choose from what you give it. Reviewers recommended re-shooting at least one photo in 37% of RMH reviews, and in 59% for customers aged 22 to 25.

The gym selfie is doing the talking
A mirror selfie mostly tells people you own a mirror. Reviewers raised gym or shirtless photos in 12% of reviews, almost always to ask for them to go, and selfies and mirror shots in another 12%.

Swap it for a candid in good light. Reviewers asked for candid, natural shots in 18% of reviews and for a smiling or laughing photo in 33%.

The bio is a spec sheet
Height, job and “love to travel” are facts, and facts don’t give anyone an opening line.

Write one thing someone could answer. A small opinion, a plan for Saturday, a question with an obvious reply. The Tinder bio examples show what that looks like.
